Screenshot Saturday: 0.3.6 Preview #16!

Good morning!

I had planned to be done with the update by this point,  but things both in development and in my personal life kept me very, very busy. With any luck, I'll have a lot of time in a week or two to just pound this update down.

Of course, I have made some progress! Take a look at this:

An explosion! Yes, as mentioned in Screenshot Saturday #6, there's cannons around these parts and they will fire on you as you make your way through. You'll  be able to determine when you're about to get some Blastshot heading your way by watching a crosshair and listening for a beep; once you hear the beep, stay away from the space the crosshair's on, because that'll be where the center of the blast hits. And if you're not directly behind cover, that's gonna do some damage.

And be careful where you fight! The cannons won't stop firing if you're in battle with enemies; they'll periodically send a nasty Fire attack your way. (Of course, if you have the right gear, that might not be a huge problem...)

HA! Could we guard against Blastshot on the overworld as well with the right gear??

I wonder how Brill's (presumably it's Brill) ability to predict Blastshot is gonna be explained, or if it's just game stuff. ... Probably the Check Specs aren't long-range enough to work, but who says they can't get upgrades? hmm.

Then again, if it's on a clear timer, and location, you only need to see it twice to get the pattern.

Good luck with everything!

That's a good idea! I'll factor Fire Resistance into the damage formula in the Overworld too, though it won't be able to trivialize the damage.

As for how Brill knows, that's a good question. I assume she'll hear the blast incoming, and be keeping her eye on the cannon itself, as she goes through the area. She also won't be alone, and her friend will be keeping an eye open  for danger.
