0.3.5 P2 - Bugfix (and more) Patch 28

EDIT 7 HOURS LATER: I had to patch the game again to fix one more bug. This fix has been rolled into the notes for this bugfix patch.

Good afternoon!

This has been a great week for development, with a lot of mapping getting done behind the scenes. I'd say I'm just over halfway done with the second dungeon's base mapping already!

In addition to that, I've patched a very minor bug- and added some new quality-of-life features to the menu. All of this is in today's patch!

As always, the patched version replaces the main download.

NEW FEATURES:

  • Instead of the unused "Level" indicator, the main menu now displays Brill's base Attack, Defense, Block Strength and Block Speed, as well as that of her temporary party member if she has one.
  • The Equipment screen now displays elemental damage rates and elemental amp for the six prime elements.

BUGFIXES:

  • A cliff in the Midd Farmstead no longer breaks physics.
  • The unused "Battle Camera" menu is no longer shown.
  • Second Round: The Hidden Forgemaster's Magic Mug recipe wasn't using up the player's Miner Mug properly; due to an erroneous apostrophe-s in his blacksmithing manual, he was absentmindedly upgrading his own collection of coffee mugs and handing them to Brill. The Forgemaster has since realized the error, and will now properly upgrade Brill's Miner Mug. (He's also asking me to encourage players to upgrade their items with him, so he can buy some more coffee mugs.)

In my Life Gem search, went down and Rafted into the Lava of Torken Tower. Then I couldn't escape. I couldn't raft out of the lava after rafting into the only lava tile that's surrounded by other lava tiles?

Good thing I saved outside the lava.

Oh, shoot, I forgot some lava. It's set to "water tile" by default and the game thinks it's water unless I state otherwise.

I'll make sure that's not raftable.

EDIT 3: That New Skip to the Secret Rope, I can't walk back out of the watery place once I get there, even if I don't use the Skip?

EDIT 4: Lucky Plank doesn't give Earth Res 50%, but the description says it does?

...

Not sure if you got my previous Edit on a Physics Break, but found this unclimbable ladder?

And glad I went back to the Library. Earth Resistance boosts Stone Wall. Hmm, might the Dullstone be better for Stone's Throw heavy strats instead of Great Vim Crystal, I wonder.

... Lucky Plank is better than the Targe, for sure, then? Or not?

Oh no, it still says that Earth Resistance raises Rock Wall's effect? That was an old trait, it's been removed since it absolutely destroyed the game balance. I'll have to patch that dialogue out as soon as possible.

The ladder there is meant to be  behind the bookshelves. I could definitely communicate this better to the player, though- maybe I'll add in a shadow over it in the next patch as well. The physics break has a working fix in my copy, and I'll go over the other issues as well.

EDIT: Hmm, it looks like it says the shelf says half Earth Amp (as intended), rather than Earth Resistance. Did I forget a bookshelf?

EDIT2: Well, found the problem with the exit event: I forgot to make it "on player touch"! You can still trigger it by using the action button while on the relevant spot, but it shouldn't be an issue for much longer as I'll have a fix out soon anyway.

The Status Effects info on the Combat Bookshelf in the Non-Hidden Regalle Royal Library says Earth Resistance helps Stone Wall.

Also, should the second half of the Belke Coast still have Water Spiders even after defeating the boss?

(1 edit) (+1)

Oh yeah, that's a thing. You actually reminded me just in time! Come to think of it, I should probably add Reflect Element to that bookshelf.

Yep, the Water Spiders and Sand Crabs are always there. Presumably, they make their nests near the rocky terrain on the east side, but normally avoid the human-patrolled west side unless forced to go east by an outside stimulus.

Huh, making the Magic Mug should use up the Miner Mug, right? The recipe doesn't call for it.

I was testing to see if I could bring Block Speed to 100% and looking at my options. Seems like that's not possible right now.

Nice use of the freed spaces!

Oh, shoot- I had it set to use the "Miner's Mug" when the item is called the "Miner Mug", that must've caused the issue. I'll do the whole "patch the patch" thing real quick, since I did just add this patch today.

Glad you like the new UI changes! In the future, I might  shrink the text a bit to make room for some more stats, like Healing Rate and Action Meter Speed.
