0.3.5 P2 - Bugfix Patch 24
Ruphand: An Apothecary's Adventure » Devlog
Good morning!
I'm going to go ahead and drop a few more minor bugfixes (and some quality-of-life improvements) in this patch.
As always, the fixed version replaces the main download.
BUGFIXES:
- Brill should no longer be able to phase through certain mountains high in the Overworld.
- Bluff should no longer trigger its Block from player skills or items.
QUALITY OF LIFE:
- After Brill has reached a certain point on the other side of it, she can skip through the Aerialite Caverns quickly, without having to raft down a long river.
DIALOGUE EDITS:
- A maid in the Exiles' Retreat forgot her lines and started ad-libbing after the player clears A Royal Pain. She's been given another copy of the script, and should no longer do so.

EDIT: BIG BUG: Can't use the Dragon Statue guarded by the second instance of Enemy 172, when returning to the area.
Woo! Skip!
Was looking at the front page again, I wonder how much content there is now. Probably 30 hrs?
Went back into the Starting Dungeon to check for Life Gems, and after walking up the stairs, an Cave Bat through a wall noticed Brill? They ZOOM!
Hmm, the Contact Brace might be a good fast travel option, if you want, since that's how faint-teleporting was explained? EDIT:
Since I'm not feeling so happy about having to walk back out again, but that's the risk I took.Eh. And it's not as long as I thought!EDIT: This was a good risk! I totally forgot about the sparkly! 150 HP! Woo!
EDIT: And Vine Worldbuilding, explaining their pervasiveness! Raft Waterfall and Light Shaft Dialogue even for here! Nice!
EDIT: Really wondering what those crystals in the water are. Just natural Ether formations or something? Well, I found what I'm looking for, so I'm leaving.
Hmm, gotta go fight Enemy 172. Speaking of the Void, I wonder how to get to that other Void section that can be glimpsed from the Deciphering Scroll secret passage place. ... And lost to Enemy 172 and landed back in Levitt's Landing. A *bit* far? ... Might as well make a Fire Blast. Okay, so Fire Blast does Burn. Useful.
Speaking of Orvas, well, I guess the Electro Slime of Jelirol's hints at something secret in town, are still in progress? ... And I can stomp on the General Store's flowers. hmm.
Hmm. It'd take some time to implement fast travel, and it could potentially break certain story bits (such as when you're "returning" from a dungeon). That said, I'll definitely look into it sometime down the line- presumably after testing a full-game run and determining which parts would require fast travel to be disabled.
Currently, being KO'd generally sends you back to the last visited town/safe spot. It would probably be a good idea to make this more consistent, though, and add more return points closer to the outside of the dungeon they're in. I'll look at this, and most likely will have a patch out later tonight. (That should also fix the Dragon Statue and flower beds, and alter the dialogue in Jelirol so it doesn't accidentally hint at something that's not there.)
There's probably already enough fast travel. It's just that the Rafting and walking through the streets, is a chokepoint right now because I'm so inefficient, needing to go from the Endgame Zone to Jad's Folly and back again.
EDIT: Placing the final Dragon Statue right in-between the cutscene in the same room, so Brill can use it, no matter what state she's in, instead of having to go through the cutscene to leave the final area quickly?
EDIT: Maybe also a Fast Travel to Jelirol once Brill finds it once?
There is eventually going to be a built-in shortcut to Jelirol fairly soon- either in 0.3.6 or soon after.
A Dragon Statue there would be a good idea. I think I know just the spot for one.
I meant moving the current Dragon Statue in the secret place, but there's multiple possible solutions.
