0.3.5 P2 - Bugfix Patch 21

Good afternoon!

Aww, I was hoping I'd be able to stop the bugfix patches at a nice even 20. Ah well, better to have the bugs fixed. This patch is relatively minor, fixing issues with later-game content.

As always, the fixed version replaces the main download.

BUGFIXES:

  • The Goblin Gadgeteer now actually remembers how many backfire effects you've seen already when you talk to him regarding the Major Malfunctions quest, and will no longer give you infinite Sil if you haven't yet found all of them.
  • The quests The A-Bridged Version, Search the Ruins, and Clear out the Hideout will be counted as completed if you've also completed Raiders of the Lost Cause and enter Jad's Folly.

MAP EDITS:

  • A few tiles in a lategame dungeon have been altered a bit so they differ from other tiles by something besides their color.

EDIT 8! Done the main story! I should probably complete my Charged Stones set, upgrade my Timer Ring, get the Fishman General Uniform, etc... Gonna wait for the next update and its stuff before I try Enemy 134 again. Unless, Dullstone + 50% Damage Reduction takes Thunder Block-Buster Damage to 0?

EDIT 7: The Boss Burst IV-ed, and I immediately fired off a 71 Star Burst for 99 damage, but previous 74 Star Bursts only did 94? Does Star Burst have Variance? Or is there something I'm missing? The key is Burst. Why?

EDIT 6: 50% Damage Reduction with a good element choice FTW against the boss! Probably could've just used one of the 50% Element protection pieces. But reflecting Inferno Breath, while cool, is useless. And setting up a Reflect doesn't help if I accidentally Block-Dodge to not get hit. mmm. What. Reflect Wind doesn't work on Hurricane??
...
Maybe give the Cool Cape some Defense, to match the Warmlet?

EDIT 5: The second Attack Focus doesn't drop Defense? But all others do?

EDIT 4: Was fighting Flamehounds, got my loot, then fainted from Burn damage! Gotta go all the way back from the cave! *sigh* ... Shoulda worn my Fishman Major Garb.

EDIT 3: Ooh, I figured out the first Treasury valve by trial and error! I thought it was the green part of the room that was important, but no.

EDIT: Can walk through the green upholstered chair at the far end of the room in the first enemy floor of this place.

EDIT 2: The portal in the dining room floor can't be activated, right? Its activation isn't important to the Treasury combination, right?

Should the Ennerverators constantly respawn when reentering the room instead of waiting to be resummoned?

Yow, that's a lot to go over! Best I get it now, though- and I'm excited at the prospect of the whole game running smoothly. All right, from the bottom up...

Wow, that is a lot of Stone's Throw medals. I'm impressed! Anyway, the Enervator Squad isn't deactivating a trigger in the current version. Easy fix, thankfully.

The portal in that room isn't relevant at the moment. Time will tell if it becomes relevant later.

I'll go ahead and make the back of that chair impassable/examinable.

The valve for that room is a bit tricky, but there's a tell. It's a fairly bright idea, if I do say so myself. I was on fire when I came up with it! ...too much?

Hmmm. I might need to look at Burn again later.

Not noticing any issues with Attack Focus- it seems to be properly lowering Defense at the right time. I wonder if there's some kind of percentile increase or decrease to Defense going on in your case? I can only think of a few of those off the top of my head, though.

Hurricane Wingbeat was erroneously not typed as a Wind attack for whatever reason. That'll be fixed in the next patch. (I actually got the idea for the attack name directly from Smaug's boast in The Hobbit- as well as the idea to have Rossolon do a big pre-battle speech in the first place.)

Maybe I'll give the Cool Cape a little Attack, to contrast the Warmlet.

Oh, for the love of... how exactly did Star Burst, of all things, have variance? I must've really been overusing Harvest in my test run or I would've noticed it. Well, that's being fixed right now. All the damage variance must've come from there, since I probably copied and pasted Star Burst. (On that note, Starforce Explosion also had variance.)

Well done, and thank you for playing through this game. I hope you enjoyed Ruphand: An Apothecary's Adventure!

(As far as Enemy 134 goes, the Dullstone will stack multiplicatively with other sources of elemental resistance. (For instance, if you had it with the Insulated Shoes, you'd be effectively taking 37.5% of the usual damage from Thunder, including any Block Buster damage.) That said, here's one tip: One of that enemy's most dangerous features is his high Attack stat.)

For that first Treasury Valve, I looked at them multiple times, but didn't notice that! Good feature! I was distracted by the fruit.

EDIT: All the other clues were whole tiles, and it's not hard to trial-and-error through 1 or 2 switches. The Portal / Dining Room one had me distracted by the portal, but looking closely found the clear clue.

Thanks for the fix! Will apply after battle! ... EDIT: Oh, that's all I get for refighting? mmm. Well, at least I found more backfires.

Spamming the Check Specs for its Altered effect, and the only thing that seemed to get the alteration to tick down while I was doing that, was a Starforce Explosion?

In the end, I had to Block to keep Brill alive.
