0.3.5 P2 - Bugfix Patch 20
Ruphand: An Apothecary's Adventure » Devlog
Good evening!
Sometimes these bugs seem much more difficult to squash than they really are. This patch fixes a lot of issues with later sidequests, including one that could have potentially been really bad if I hadn't caught it in testing.
As always, the fixed version has replaced the main download.
BALANCE CHANGES:
- The elemental Amulets available in a late-game shop have been improved; rather than offer 20% of their element's Amp and 35% of another element's Resistance, they grant 30% Amp and 40% Resistance. With no negative effects or clunky gimmicks attached to that total, the Amulets should be worth using.
BUGFIXES:
- Following characters no longer block NPCs.
- The quests The A-Bridged Version, Search the Ruins, and Clear out the Hideout should now be properly counted as completed by the Journal when you finish them. If you've already done so, they'll also be counted as cleared when finishing Raiders of the Lost Cause.
- When the Starpiece Ring is equipped, Star Burst was previously expending half of Brill's Starforce per enemy on screen. It now properly expends half of Brill's Starforce, regardless of how many enemies are on screen.
- The pebbles in the White Mask Hideout's storage room should no longer appear to be floating. The Magnetites were getting jealous.
- A certain few tiles in said storage room are no longer passable by enemies.
- If you save your game in the aforementioned storage room while on top of the crates, the game will make sure the right tileset is in play so you don't end up stuck on top of them.
- Archer Phantoms no longer knock themselves out when they shoot Flaming Arrows. You'd think they'd figure out basic fire safety on their own after an extended period of undeath, but apparently not.
- The west side of Jad's Folly now has a proper battle background.
DIALOGUE CHANGES:
- The quest Clobberin' Time has had its description altered so that it actually discusses the quest in question. A bit of Brill's dialogue has also been corrected, and she now knows not to rely on AutoCorrect.

EDIT: Went back to the Silent Keep because it was on the way from Altalato... Why's there an enemy at the top?
Thanks! ... Is there a trigger to get all the Jad's Folly quests to complete? My Journal's only a little smaller.
Also, the misfires bounty can be done infinitely?

Ooops. Looks like I left out a variable update on the Gadgeteer. That will be fixed next patch. As for the quests, looks like you've completed every side quest there is apart from Major Malfunctions (and Healer's Duty, which is pretty much always active), but the three in Jad's Folly have yet to update. I'll go ahead and count them as completed when you reenter Jad's Folly post-Raiders of the Lost Cause as well.
Ah, that enemy at the top was part of the cutscene. I'll have him out in the next patch as well. I think I'll roll that out later in the afternoon.
Alright!
EDIT: So, Starforce Explosion isn't affected by the Starpiece Ring. Hm. This stuff is hilarious! So glad I'm using the Crimson Knights as Test Subjects, basically! ... And that Void Interaction! Niiice!
Was wanting to use my Sample before going up the Rope, but does Sample not regenerate while on the Raft, or in this room?

The Treasury Valves are possible, right? I think I've figured out what the puzzle is, at least. It's all about the visuals.
Let's see if this works for hiding spoilers... Nope.

Yes, the Treasury Valves are possible. Come to think of it, one of the tells isn't colorblind-friendly. I should probably do something about that.
Interesting- the Sample cooldown doesn't seem to tick down when you're on the Raft. This probably isn't a huge deal, but I should definitely look into it at some point down the line.
Alright! I guess I just gotta think harder!
The Snow Gem should unlock new Recipes, right? I'm not seeing them, I think? Also, should the FF status be affected by Chronah's Medal?
Glad I decided to try the battle again! Woo! More stuff! Not that I know what I'm gonna get. And probably should remember to check on the Ice Crystal since I'm in the area.
Lastly, the Check Specs Alteration effect doesn't seem to be ticking down? I've Checked more than thrice and it's still 3? But if I do other things, then it does do down, at least.
Checking your file, it looks like you do have the Snow Gem's associated recipe, the Niflflask.
I didn't think about it, but Frost Burn definitely should be affected by Chronah's medal. I just uploaded the next patch and notes are on the way, but the patch after that, I'll make it affect Frost Burn as well.
Check doesn't cause a lot of states to tick down. This does have the unintentional benefit of making it easier to see every possible output of the aforementioned alteration effect.
