0.3.5 P2 - Bugfix Patch 14
Ruphand: An Apothecary's Adventure » Devlog
Good morning!
I'm up to 14 of these already, but there can't be that many more bugs, right? This one fixes some issues that, among other things, unintentionally made a certain boss way to hard.
As usual, the fixed version replaces the main download.
BUGFIXES:
- Red Cap tested even more of his experimental "Invisible Spray" on some rubble and pillars in the southeast of Jad's Folly. As before, it only worked on people behind the fourth wall, so he's cleaned it off.
- Rauthaz no longer can spam Vampirist Matrix- it uses it only once, and then must have coordinates set by Red Cap to use it again.
- The Stormight Shield was previously inflicting its on-hit Chill effect Brill instead of attackers; it now properly inflicts Chill on attackers instead.
TEXT FIXES:
- A few Medal descriptions have been altered.

EDIT: Battle Shield and Sage Robe makes my Star Burst damage worse? Or is Star Burst 3 just better than Star Burst 1, even with lower attack? https://drive.google.com/file/d/1bwqw7ljBbMi3PLPKWjl4DsNccpQlQkUJ/view?usp=shari...
If Brill walks forward, she enters the ceiling. Gave up on Red Cap again. I need to remember what attacks have what bars to time my Deflects good, which is a bit too thinky right now. I'll try and get back into the ruins and see what loot I get.
That cloud tileset has been breaking physics a lot- the south cloud edges in particular, since they're set to passable so you can walk in front of them. I'll have to go through the Aerialite Caverns again and make sure physics aren't being broken there either. Probably will have a patch out late tonight.
As for Star Burst- I compared your saved, more defensive gear set (with Pure Shield+Spellsteel Robe) with the same gear set, but with the Battle Shield and Sage's Cloak replacing the Pure Shield and Spellsteel Robe, both from the immediate point you saved at and both on the same Hollow Howler with 6 Starforce.
The Pure Shield + Spellsteel Robe set did 77 with the 6-point Star Burst while the Battle Shield + Sage's Cloak did 93. As expected, the damage increased by 16, equal to the increased attack of 8 multiplied by 2 because of the Cursed Coronet. It seems to be working as intended. Did you have a lot of Starforce built up when you used Star Burst with the Pure Shield and Spellsteel Robe?
Yeah, I must've had more Starforce built up than I expected. Blocking constantly after my initial blow that took Hollow Howlers to 0 gave me 6 Starforce by the end, and just noticed that they give 2 Starforce on death? Is that normal?
You get a bonus point of Starforce when you block an attack, and another bonus point if the blocked attack does 0 damage. Since Hollow Howlers tend to die around the time they deal 0 damage, that's probably the explanation.
I should probably include this information somewhere. Starforce has a lot of mechanics behind it, and an explanation of them would probably be in order. Just gotta figure out where to put it so that people know where it is...
Good thing I went back to the ruins, because BUG:
Can't wear Ring of Endurance. If I try, "RangeError: Maximum call stack size exceeded", even if I Clear first.
So basically, a formula that worked fine in testing calls an infinite loop now- still no idea how it worked in testing. It might take a minute, but I think I have a workaround in mind. I'll go ahead and drop a patch when I finish this fix.
EDIT: Patched! Notes are on the way.
How's the Stormight Shield supposed to work, with the Status Effect Symbols? Because it still looks like Brill's being chilled when she blocks. Not her foes?
Does it matter that I'm using it while it's Brill + Garett vs. Red Cap 2?
In case you want something to test right where it happens: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1OJPlEfZ0iNR72nibcC9WY7f4MqGdOiyU/view?usp=shari...
Ah, there's the problem. The "On-Block Chilling Shield" state connected to the Stormight Shield has the icon for the Ice Element- which of course is the same as Chill.
Also, I worded the Stormight Shield's effect badly- it should be "inflicts 10% Chill on non-Burned attackers".
Terribly sorry for the confusion. I'll change the icon and text next patch.
I thought that was it! I wasn't sure if Attackers was just another way of saying "Foes" or that Brill needed to be hit for it to work. Well, back to Laser Lens for me!
