0.3.5 P2 - Bugfix Patch 9

Good evening!

Evidently I needed to do some more testing. I don't even know how one parenthesis got where it got, but there's a lot of things that needed to be ironed out. I'd recommend updating again as this patch fixes a potential game crash.

The fixed 0.3.5 P2 has replaced the main download.

BUGFIXES:

  • Counterattacks were being snobs and not considering Thunder Punch a *proper* Thunder attack. This has been corrected, and the counterattacks in question have issued Thunder Punch a formal apology.
  • One of the later note events in the Silent Keep was rehearsing out-of-bounds around the time Brill checks the third note. It has a private place to rehearse now, so it won't be visible out-of-bounds.
  • Genn adjusted the recipe of the Pepperflask to prevent any more Variance when being used with the Pepperevenge medal.
  • Dark Dryads' Nightshade Arrow no longer causes a game crash, and the Dryads have been given a stern warning about trying to poison the time-space continuum with parenthesis venom.

TEXT FIXES:

  • The Old Key now correctly states where it was actually found. We apologize for giving it the outdated script.

Uh, do Object Descriptions not change after you pick them up? Since my Old Key doesn't say it was picked up off the ground.

I was going to check if I whether I updated or not by fighting the Dark Dryad again, but with All Attack Foci and Pepperevenge, meant that I could take her down with mainly Star Bursts, letting off 4 before she could do anything! No pun intended!

It's minor, so I'm going to bed since I'm safe at the end of the left corridor.

The description should have changed. I'm not sure why it wouldn't have, but just in case, I've re-uploaded Bugfix 9.

Good night!

Thanks! Sleep well too!

I just checked, and I actually forgot to update! Good thing I didn't actually try Max Attack strat initially, otherwise I never would've seen the issue.

Uh, White Masks' Shady Guy outside Highfort doesn't unlock a quest in my Journal or dialogue from Genn?

Future people: Magnes Spoilers below! And I'm taking a dive to get another Medal Point and check with the Healer. Uh. What's the next reward tier? I visited once at 10 or so, and 12, and nothing still, even at 21?

Word spills:

Should one of the attack lines be all orange / red?

He looked so strong, but a Full Thunder Defense build... And I just wanted to dive, but Amp Rage just makes him too limited. It deals 0 damage, and if I Pepperevenged and Adrenaline-d, I'd be healing so much more since they work together. Instead of me hoping that he Thunder Claps and Wrath Bolts enough for me to lose.

I don't even have a hat that resists Thunder...

And the sparking golem on the left tower's left, can't use Anti-All in-place of Anti-Thunder? That would be such a waste though. Guess I gotta use an Anti-Thunder.

And on my difficulty comments, well, I forgot that there are difficulty increasing Medals and stuff if I wanted it.

...

What does PB-44's Superheavy do? I missed the message by mashing too fast, since I just punch forever. Well, I got the thingy!

Might as well try and clear out my Journal. Where are you, Ulfar? ... And still can't enter Brumar. And can't sneak in.
...
Found Steelfrost before seeing Ulfar again? Really thinking he's not here right below the Low Road of the Frozen Reaches, anymore? But I haven't gotten the Stjerneve(j) Fragment. A.k.a Star Road Fragment, if you add that J. "Stjernevejskolen" needed in Google Translate to figure that out! heh.

Oh, shoot. Shady Guy was left over from a previous plan involving the next sidequest! Everything involving him has changed, so I'll have him patched out with the next update. I used the switch involving him for something else, but it should be fine as long as the next patch is updated since I can just set it to reset the switch right before it's relevant. EDIT: After you talked to Shady Guy, did you enter Highfort? That might've made something available earlier than intended.

I've been considering a slight adjustment to the Focus medals. +2/-1 is a lot for the low MP cost they have, so I was thinking I might set it to +3/-1 on the first medal, +2/-1 on the second and +1/-1 afterward.

I'll have a patch out soon that fixes the lines. Not sure if I'll implement this change immediately.

EDIT: Next reward tier is 25 healed.

EDIT 2: And patched! I did implement the Focus medal adjustment after all. Let me look at the odds for Ulfar again before I post the notes.

EDIT 3: Okay, something's definitely off. The odds for running into Ulfar are just under 1 in 2 (after the 1/30th chance for a Steelfrost) if you haven't fought him yet. I'm going to look at this again.

I definitely punched in "Star (something)" into Google Translate when I picked a name for Ulfar's axe, given its Gravity effect. Forget the second word, but "Star Road" probably fits.

EDIT 4: I looked at your file. For some reason, the switch "DefeatedUlfar" is on, yet you haven't defeated Ulfar- as you haven't received the Stjerneve Fragment, completed the quest, or registered Ulfar in the Bestiary.

No idea how DefeatedUlfar would be on, but it's clearly not behaving itself, so I'll just add a "ReallyDefeatedUlfar" switch and replace it. I'll just make a patch for that too.

EDIT 5: Completely missed the question about Superheavy Mode. It lets PB-44 counterattack with any of his attacks, though getting hit lowers the turns it's active. It's also supposed to halve his speed, but double his defense and boost his attack by 1.5x, which... isn't in the parameters for some reason! This will be corrected with the next patch.

I found Shady Guy due to leaving Highfort from that side.

Are there even 25 possible heals before defeating Magnes?

How do you get Ulfar to appear? I forgot so long to mention, but when Brill talked upon seeing the Army, I saw an Orange Monster, but it disappears after she's done speaking, and if the trigger is by clearing out the place and then he appears, well there are monsters out of bounds or something in the top of the map?

A working Superheavy might've stopped me from punching him to death. Maybe. Would be all about how (un)lucky I would be.

I think there's 25 possible heals? Arissa, the girl in Daltah, Daltah mines guy, 10 in the castle... there might not be, actually. That said, the main reward from 25 heals requires you to have defeated Magnes already, and you'll find some more pretty soon.

Ulfar appears after 4 enemies (EDIT: Enemy groups, not individual enemies) are defeated or after examining the gravestone in the encounter.
