I'm happy to announce the release of Ruphand 0.3.7-P2, the Challenge Tower Update! Development ran into more hiccups than expected- but the update is ready to go!
I'll immediately be getting started on the last "Part" of 0.3.7, a new sidequest that'll take Brill back to some older sidequests. After that, the main story will continue in 0.3.8!
NEW ADDITIONS:
- Beneath the Challenge Tower, Aeternator awaits. Once Brill gets the quest Now What?, this endless fight will open up; the player can earn rewards based on how long they last and how much damage they do!
- The Hard Mode Challenge Tower is here! Brill can enter it after The Eidolon Shackled is complete, but be warned: it isn't called "Hard Mode" for nothing!
BUGFIXES AND BALANCE CHANGES:
- A major bug with the Cold Snap was fixed. Not sure how it even came about, I swear there was no problem there before, but it's dealt with.
- A few other miscellaneous minor issues have been patched as well.

Okay this first battle, I tried for the 1000 damage challenge, Heavy Grav to start but forgot to make my Inevitabolt. Star Burst failed so I just kept punching because why not.
He did Conjure Coin, did a Stride, Barrier Shift... Only attack was Make It Rain... am I gonna survive 200 ticks by basically doing almost nothing??
And after performing a look at his Positive Status, the check menu got smaller? And if I am in the "nothing selected" state and go Up, I land in Negative Status instead of Done as I expected? Intentional to prevent someone from accidentally hitting Done unintentionally?? But then going Up above Stats while in menu gets me to Done, so eh?
Yeah, my only damage taken right now is from the Rain. Maybe as a reaction to my loadout? Only attack from Aeternator was an Earth attack, because I was running:
Pure Shield, Boater, Storm Cloak, Double Dragonstone, Dullstone, Battle Brooch, Master's Gift, Extra Edge, Startforce, Catch Up, Perilous Punch, Catalyzer Focus, Nature's Boon, Lucky Lass gave me speedup, Thunder Affinity, Stone's Throw (x12),
Can we number the Medal slots so it's easier to count? That's minor though.

Condensed Thunder Formulae tiers names are too long for crafting menu at current kerning? But minor.
Living Treasure G and beyond are causing flickering between Aeternator and itself. Probably out of lag from having to remember Treasures A to E.
He really likes Conjuring Coins. Had 6 Condensed Thunder Formulae and therefore got up to Treasure M.
Forza Barrage doesn't stop when Brill hits 0, and keeps going for like 5 times. I was worried it was infinite, but that's an effective Phoenix Phormula counter.
Okay, totally sure some Damage Memory's being lost. I did a Heavy Grav successfully but I only got 7 damage recorded, from my punches.
Lol got 388 Ticks from just "blasting" AOE. Need to fix that AI or fix Brill's teachings / memory. :rofl:

Whelp, not staying around for the 1K damage challenge, gonna get a Medal and be on my way. Maybe try Hard Mode later.
Aeternator and his Treasures don't count for my bestiary? Aw. Just gonna Hard Mode for 2 entries to get another Medal Point.
Sampling in Hard Mode got me two instances of Common Mushrooms, instead of just an extra big batch?
And 2 Jelly Jewel instances on Floor 2. huh.
Arrow Storm hitting after looser defeated. mmm. Lol Lifesparks Hmming at the argument!
And somehow ended the battle looking like 97 / 173 but menu says 14/173??
I swear I keep trying to make him attack more and he never does. Odds of Conjure Coins will definitely be going down again.
The healing done by Aeternator's Rising Force will negate some damage, but if his health is still down by 700 then I'm not sure what's going on. I'll have to look into that a bit more. (That said, I'm considering removing said healing as it doesn't really "fit" the description- I wanted a use for the Heal Buster in the fight, but it doesn't really make too much sense to take that away from damage, unlike with Barrier Shift where you're technically doing "negative" damage.)
I probably need to specifically make a plugin call to add Aeternator to the bestiary; since you lose the fight, it doesn't get "counted". Same with Aeternator's conversation, I just need to change a switch check. Minor fixes, easy enough to do. I'll probably do a quick patch with all of that tomorrow morning.

The sampled items in the Tower are completely random, so duplicates are possible.
A lot of the "Raining Attack" states (and Artillery Fire) could probably use a check to see if the enemy party is actually still standing. That'll take a bit of extra effort as I need to test each one to make sure the edits don't break it, but I'll work on that while I plan out the next update.
The bestiary code for Aeternator could maybe be copied from the special pyramid battle, spoilers below. the opener.

Rising Force vs. Heavy Grav still has the Grav do 700 Damage, yeah. I'm seeing 799,300 right now.
Then hit him with an accidentally made Fire Formula III for 798,984 at the end of Brill's second turn, exploiting the expected Fire weakness in his defenses from my current loadout.
Oh, so it's damage dealt by the end of the battle, not damage done across the whole battle? Well, yeah, he needs to attack more and heal less then. mm.
Well, got 1153 damage with that calculation style and 258 ticks too, so I'm good, getting 288 points from that. Gonna go Hard Mode once more to get from 499 points total for the others needed for another Medal.
