Screenshot Saturday: 0.3.6 Preview(?) #5!
Good morning!
As I mentioned in the last bugfix patch notes, I've been making a lot of progress on mapping in the next update. But that's not all- I've also added some interface improvements that are already in the game as of the latest patch!
In this update, I'll show off one of these new interface features, while teasing a few more things.
Oh, hey, Vantus is back! And you can now see his stats from the menu, along with Brill's stats.
Vantus has gotten some upgrades since the last time him and Brill teamed up; his base stat total is even better than Brill's in this shot, although that might be because Brill is clearly focusing hard on Attack here. Strong Defense, as well as a solid Block with only a 15% delay to it, and evidently he's been looking around for Life Gems as well- 175 HP is a lot!
I'll leave you to speculate on anything else in the screenshot.

Well, the Raft is working in this place, gonna call it Voidsea or something, because what else can it be? Unless there's some third realm we dunno about.
Hehe, thanks for using my save, I bet this is! The Sil Count matches up and stuff, heh. Now I'm less worried about things being too unbalanced in my favor for my Strike First, Strike Hard build!
Just gotta worry if something can Strike even harder and faster.
Have I got all the Life Gems?
Yep, it's the save you gave me- it's been useful for testing. I was able to find at least one of the 1-HP ones hidden off to the side, but they're pretty tricky, as a few of them aren't even on-screen. There's probably four more of those left, I'll have to double-check.
Other than that, though, I believe you've found them all!
EDIT: I went ahead and checked, there is one >1HP Life Gem hidden in the Gemstone Cavern. It's a bit tricky to find. EDIT 2: Actually, there's a second item left for you to find in there as well.
EDIT 3: I'm looking everywhere I could potentially have put these 1HP Life Gems and I've found two more in total, plus the one in the Gemstone Cavern. No idea where the others could be, or maybe I just forgot about them. Either way, I'm sitting at 157 HP.
I thought for sure that I added 10 of those small Life Gems in all. I'll go over the events to see if that's the case.
Well, dodged the Hammers and made it back in. Yeah, my "Hit Hard, Hit Fast" strat really only worked well in the Challenge Tower because they had such low defenses that I was dealing 100+ damage.
As you likely discovered, Diamond Dogs are still defeatable with that strat, but barely.
And the mobs at the end of the Gemstone Chamber are not falling to this strat at all. Ha!
In other things, I can't reduce the turn gauge of enemies that have 100% Turn Gauge?
Oh, shoot! The misseds secrets are in the Cavern, not the Chamber.
Ah, they've probably already selected an action by that point. I'll look into this.
It turns out I've placed seven 1-HP life gems plus a 2-HP one in earlier areas, locked behind the Raft. I'll sneak in one more next patch- it'll be locked behind the raft, but should be pretty easy to find- so that the max possible HP is once again a nice clean multiple of 5.
EDIT: PHYSICS BREAK: Monster can go onto the upstairs in the map that holds the Gemstone Cavern Secret Life Gem.
EDIT 4: I was talking about the Metal Chest. Went down to the bottom and found the Wooden Chest too. Oh, it's not a Life Gem, and I can't raft in these waters. huh.
I wasn't sure which one was which, and I thought you misspoke, yeah. I went looking in my Journal, and knew that the Road wasn't the right spot. To find the name, I had to look at the Gem Bat bestiary entry.
EDIT: Strange Material Island chest can be opened by Raft, so I got confused by Bridge talk.
EDIT 2: Found the Metal Chest in the Gemstone Cavern. Now I can make full use of my Rings of Reprisal at base HP!
