0.3.5 P2 - Bugfix Patch 8
Ruphand: An Apothecary's Adventure » Devlog
Good morning!
Yep, another one. This time, it's mostly minor fixes, but it's still recommended to download this patch.
EDIT: More bugs were discovered and one can crash the game. The patch has been "re-patched", so it's recommended to re-download the patch if you got it before around 11:40 AM today (April 1).
As usual, the fixed 0.3.5 P2 has replaced the main download.
BUGFIXES:
- Brill can no longer walk on top of some of the books in the Academy Subterrane.
- An edge tile in the middle of the Pub dock in Mimic Moorage has been replaced with a middle tile.
- The Powder Keg that wants to cool down now accepts Water in addition to Ice, including Holy Water, Bottle of Water, and Pure Water. (You'll still get your Blessed Bottle back if you give him Holy Water.)
- Mineral Slimes were trying to use Brill's Rock Wall for calculations when they attacked with Rock Slide. This wasn't working out for them, so now they're properly using their own Rock Wall.
- Regeneration effects will no longer work if the user is at 0 HP. This should prevent Regen from kicking in when a Counterattack reduces HP to 0.
- Second Patch: Fishman Hunters were using an eldritch material from outside space and time in their Shock Tridents, which created an extra parenthesis in the time-space continuum, causing the game to crash. They have since been reprimanded for this by Time-Space Police, and their Shock Tridents won't crash the game anymore.
TEXT FIXES:
- Fired Farley's menu will no longer call the Royal Library "Grand Ring Bay" when you're very clearly already at the Grand Ring Bay.
- The list of stolen goods in the Castle Town Inspector's Office has altered dialogue when you return all the stolen goods.
- A few text overflow issues have been corrected.
- Minor NPC dialogue edits were made in the Arkenvali Academy.
- Second Patch: The Mimic Greeter now has different dialogue after defeating Sir le Faike.

Dark Dryad's Nightshade Arrow has the same issue as the Shock Trident before. And she's a Boss, so I can't avoid her.
Lifeshield Robe's poison protection sorta makes her a joke?
Probably could OHKO her with Fire Formula III, since it has 100 base damage, just adding an Overcharge ontop would probably do it, but gonna go back a few saves and get another Medal Point and stuff. Maybe try to finish all the bounties first.
EDIT: Future People: Spoilers below the "View Rest"!
As time has passed, seems like the Arkenvali kid that was driven mad by a test in 5 days, might have the number update? Then again, there could be multiple tests.
...
Wraith Fiend is so numerical and progressively harder! COOL!
But he's so slow that Full Defense Foci and Healing build means I could just punch him to death. 59 Damage isn't a concern against 34 Defense and 28 HP regen a turn. If he used his Rage Blade at the beginning, maybe he'd get +100%. But not likely.
Then again, mini-Bosses. Magnes is the real threat. And he does look like one.
Rune Giant. Lol, my stats too good! Fall to Fists of fury!
Thera... Hope she's actually good. But maybe not. Hmm. Gonna reload the Pre-Defia save now, before Thera's scene is spoiled for me. Oh, nevermind, I can leave for supplies. Gonna fight it again. Well, darn, Thera.
...
Comments I was saving, but then I got Nightshaded:
Finished Black Knight's Castle. Oooh, the Earth Crystal has not handled watching humans well at all.
Back at Orvas, maybe Marissa and everyone else around the Guard Tower should say other things? Well, off to the Earth Cave.
Is Genn, Brill's blood uncle? If so, the disappearance / loss of Brill's parents is even sadder.
Bone Dragon is necessitating some different strats. Involving the Angel Ring or something, but in the end, I just ran around it.
Torel was annoying, but full Heal and Defense Foci build just made him a slog. Shipping him and Brill a bit, since he cares about her so much! Love blooms on a battlefield, or between the Earth Champions, etc. heh.
I'm going to have a fix out for Nightshade Arrow soon. Might look through the skills later to make sure they've all got parenthesis in the right place.
One thing- the Lifeshield Robe's description mentions it blocks "almost all poison", but the arrows from the Dark Dryad are special cases and don't get blocked. It won't inflict the Poison condition, but it will inflict the stat debuffs, and Nightshade Arrow checks for those. That said, Antipoison will remove these debuffs, and Lasting Antipoison blocks them out entirely.
The student in Arkenvali Academy with too many papers will probably have some more dialogue later, when the related side quest line continues.
I originally planned to have a bigger battle outside the Earth Cave which Marissa had altered dialogue for, but that ended up not happening. She and a few other characters will get more dialogue with the next patch.
Genn and Marissa aren't related to Brill by blood. Since Genn and Marissa took her in and raised her after her father disappeared, Brill considers them family.
(Also, if you mention a certain character's alignment, make sure it's low enough in the text that you have to open up the comment to see it.)
So, the Guard that got hit by the Rune Giant is the first Healing that needs more than the first tier! Needs at least a Hi-Tonic! And I finally figured out how "What else do I have..." works! Automatically picks the available options, unlike the free-choices like for the Riddles in the Pyramid!
Aww, Mira and Thera had childhood history, unfortunately for Mira. :(
Got 14 Solar Sauce from a Sampling in Mira's room! In the Subterrane, or was it the Golem Factory, I sampled like 39 Aloe once.
There's some areas that have a rare shot at a large amount of a more common ingredient. The Dark Foundry has a Force Gem Jackpot, and the Subterrane has a Strange Material Jackpot; in your case, the Aloe Jackpot is on Mt. Gwylio- which admittedly is close to both of those dungeons in different ways.
Woo!
UH... Fishman Hunter tried to use his Shock Trident on Brill and I got
In other things, the Greeter Mimic at Mimic Moorage should probably recognize that I treated Le Faike?
And on items that I'm missing, the "Charged [Whatever fits Ice]" stone. I guess I just didn't explore the Subterreanne enough?
Shoot, there's an extra parenthesis in the eval for Shock Trident. Well, I'll have a fix up for that posthaste. I'll also add some dialogue to the Greeter, while I'm at it.
The Charged Tourmaline is the last one you're looking for. It's hidden behind a secret passage. (The room in question has quite a few passages- you might find some of them by accident when you're in it!)
Thanks! I'll go back to find it once I get back on land.
Wish I could defeat this Shell Slime, but either Thunder Punches aren't actually Thunder or Shell Slimes are treating everything as Neutral?
And the Slime's Counter isn't killing me if the Poison damage applies at the right time, or something.

EDIT: Trying for the Sunfire Medallion again, this ledge that Brill's facing can be walked through:
I forgot to set a variable. The Thunder damage is baked into the formula, but it is considering the Thunder Punch to be Neutral for countering/reflecting purposes. This'll be fixed with the next patch, along with the ledge.
I'll figure out this Poison issue in a bit. One thing to note is that Perfect Counterattack only does HP to One rather than an OHKO if you're Blocking when you attack it; if you have to eat a counter, you can block first and your Regen will still kick in.
Alright! So Thunder Punches are still better to use against Euphrates in this version!
Yep, I managed to defeat the one Shell Slime I needed for its Bestiary Entry!
Is the Ulfar the Ruthless Army encounter afraid of the Sunfire Medallion or something? I managed to find it basically every time I Sampled on this tile before wearing it.

Ulfar is one of a few map encounters (along with the Orc War Boss and PB-44) that can't be repeated. (You'll automatically get the Bestiary entry for any Dragr you missed.)
