0.3.5 P2 - Bugfix Patch 7

Good evening!

Another day, another bugfix. This one irons out some critical issues with Mimic Moorage, so it's once again recommended to update.

As usual, the fixed 0.3.5 P2 has replaced the main download.

BUGFIXES:

  • The Cleaner hasn't been able to get the toxin that caused his Poison Tonics to inflict floating-point damage numbers on targets with higher Healing rates, so they'll now properly inflict integers and will no longer have decimal points.
  • The quests "This Mine Is Mine" and "Defia Logic" should now be counted as completed at the proper time. If you still have one of them not completed on your save file, leave the Daltah Mines or Defia Grand Hall, respectively.
  • Fixed passability issues near the first ship in Mimic Moorage.
  • The bridges to and from the first ship in Mimic Moorage have stopped trying to steal from physics, and now work properly no matter which map you enter from.
  • Certain NPCs in Mimic Moorage were feeling under the weather and wouldn't talk. They have since been provided with oranges and throat drops, and are now feeling much better, so they'll have dialogue again.
  • The shining effect near the Warded Ballgown no longer remains even after it's been reclaimed.
  • The metal chests in Sir le Faike's battle felt like going deep-sea diving, so they kept attempting to move up onto an impassable tile, softlocking the game. They have since been told that a boss fight is really not the time for that, and now just do their opening animation as they are supposed to.
  • Talking to Port Side after defeating Sir le Faike should properly let Brill onto Sir le Faike's dock.
  • The exit to Sir le Faike's quarters will no longer link to a parallel timeline where Brill didn't defeat Sir le Faike yet and get Brill stuck in a wall.

TEXT FIXES:

  • Gisarmory's Bestiary entry has been altered to fit the text box.
  • The dialogue in the Defia Grand Hall after the Dark Foundry has been slightly altered.
  • A few typos and text overflow issues have been fixed.
  • The chest with the Gargoyle Wing Shield now states its proper stats.

Getting Vae out of the Subterreanne. Is she really really weak? Her attack spells do 0 on the Ants.

And I can't Counter for defending Vae. It's gotta target Brill. mmm.

And I can walk through the book asking about Water Spells' Paraelemental Interactions. And the one about Light and Bright arrows too.

For the Illusion question, I forget if Tathaln said only Basic Illusion spells are cover 3 senses, or all of them. Then again, this was a 500 year old book. Basics was all they had?

The books respawn. Hmm.

So, even Holy Water needs to be preceded by Light.

Vae has 1 Attack and 1 Defense; her Light Arrows can't even hit through anything's Defense except the boss, so unless Brill's throwing Fire or Water around, it's not a very useful spell for her. She's a rookie spellcaster that isn't even really focusing on combat magic, so she's very weak offensively, especially compared to Aida's Crossbow or Garett's magic. Her support magic is where she really shines, and if Brill goes down, she'll have better luck using Rejuvenate than trying to finish off an enemy.

Looks like the Through tag got enabled on those two books. Somehow. Well, that'll be fixed next patch.

Wizards probably knew more than the basics way back when the Subterrane wasn't, well, the Subterrane. But they are school textbooks; some of them would naturally be about the basics. (Case in point, the first one, which just asks what 8x8 is.)

Holy Water does need to be preceded by a flash of light to hit the Shadow. That said, a Shadow is Undead, so it's going to hit really hard against it. It's also got the first direct OHKO move you've seen, and the second if you include Shell Slimes' counterattack. OHKO attacks are all conditional, and usually pretty telegraphed.

I think I'll upload a bugfix patch tomorrow, along with something for Screenshot Saturday. I've gotten some more work done on base mapping, but there's still quite a bit to do.

Hoping you see this before you finalize the patch:

And I took down the Shadow with Star Burst, then Light Flare, then Holy Water and then Light Flare again!

This is one of the places where Speed Up is really good, otherwise Holy Water and Light Flare on turn 1 has the timing be bad, I think?

And Brill's not gonna tell the Pyramid Paper girl at Arkenvali's Front, about its location. heh.

EDIT: I shoulda come back down into the Subterranne with a better plan. Wish I could get the Earth Crystal to teleport me out on command.

Just got up! Don't worry, that text issue will be fixed.

Thanks! Hope you had a good rest!

Thanks for all your hard work! And taking the time to make sweet patch note jokes!

EDIT: Safe passage by Fired Farley might keep the waves sound?

Haven't tried fighting Le Faike again yet, but at least I can leave! And I won! Punch Strat needs good block timing, unless there's a Healing Hat that I missed somewhere.

Aw, yeah. Le Faike's goal! Redeem shapeshifters and such by example! So nice!

EDIT: Woo! Safe Passage! Shoulda done this first, but not like Pirates were that bad!

I guess the talking Powder Keg only leaves permanently if I sate his thirst.. Er, heat? I wonder if he counts as healing. Nope on both counts.

Is there something special about this barrel? Doesn't seem like it. The tile underneath it is suspicious. I've never seen it not be part of a chain?

I just remembered where the Powder Keg is that you were talking about! I completely forgot about him, but the next patch will let you use Holy Water (and retain your Blessed Bottle like normal), Bottle of Water, Pure Water, and another item you might find later to move him.

Nice! I returned all the stolen goods, I forget what I got for the Engagement Ring the Keg was blocking. Was it Pure Water? How fitting!

Hmm, the list of Stolen Goods, should it be all crossed out, now that Brill returned everything?

Went back to Daltah Mines to complete my journal, trying to find the guy outside's Lucky Plank... Which I did. But Mineral Slimes aren't hurting me even at only 3 DEF? Their Rockslides are doing 0 damage at 6 Rock Wall. AI or Math issue?

(+1)

Yep, 5 Pure Water and 450 Sil for returning the ring.

I didn't think of that, but having all the goods be crossed out is actually a good idea. I'll have that fixed next patch.

Along with Rock Slide. I accidentally set Rock Slide to use the target's Rock Wall rather than the user's. Whoops. That's an easy fix, fortunately.

Yay for something easy!

It seems like in certain cases, attacks can take Brill or Aida to 0, but can be healed out of KO by some regeneration?

Happened in my battle against the Kobold Sneak: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1h_kHaJ8eSo3-vQ_1j6i1999DIWdyp4Dv/view?usp=shari...

And happens with Aida if I just keep using Neutral attacks against the Shells underwater.

For the Kobold Sneak, Checking it doesn't inform me that it can dodge my punches?

(1 edit) (+1)

Good point on the dodging- I'll add that bit to the Check data.

Looks like Regen effects still fire after a counterattack even if the counter reduces HP to 0. I have a working fix for that- it'll be a bit time consuming, but it's doable.
