0.3.5 P2 - Bugfix Patch 3


Good afternoon!

Well, they just keep showing up. This time, I've fixed a single bug in the Challenge Tower and optimized the Journal.

This fixed version has replaced the original 0.3.5 P2 download, as usual. It's recommended to download this one if you have a streak in the Challenge Tower that you want to keep.

BUGFIXES:

  • The Winning Streak sign in the Challenge Tower would wipe Brill's streak after she read it, seemingly out of pure jealousy. The sign has since been reprimanded, and should not do this anymore.
  • As  it turned out, the pocket right next to the Water Formulae was not the best place for a quest log. Brill finally managed to get the pages of her Journal to stop sticking to each other, so the Journal menu should now change to different quests more quickly.

Got beat in the Secret Passage since I went their first. Would be nice if the Recovery Point moves to this inn when you get on its island, even if you don't enter the city?

Now to probably figure out uses for Dream Matter and stuff before I face the Secret Passage again.

EDIT: Maybe stop Totally Not Red Cap from blocking the exit to the Auction House? Had to pray he moved.

Facing the Blockade, trying to get enough Attack to take out Pirates with just a Condensed Thunder Formula. Almost got it, but Nature's Boon doesn't seem to be giving me Rock Wall?

Dang, how'd I forget the passive state on Nature's Boon? Fortunately, that's a very quick fix, so it'll ship with the next bugfix patch.

EDIT: Got it! Should ship tomorrow.

Here's a tip: Vantus should have just enough Defense and Block Strength to reduce a Captain's Venin Blade to 0 damage.

Am doing the Endless Challenge Tower, and entering Floor 19, my Sample was disabled, and unlocked after I beat the enemy. Intentional? I thought it meant I was gonna finally see my first Tower Lord!

And it happened on Floor 20 as well! Is it because I sampled after my fights, instead of before?

And finally met my first Tower Lord! So, they happen every 20 floors? The attendant or someone seemed to imply they were gonna appear randomly.

Venomagus. ... Poison weakens Healing to like 1/4? And I guessed right, I can't just take Antipoison to win. Well, at least his poison disappears at the end of the fight.

Good thing I had enough defense to take his Sparks to 0, and he never launched his Emergency Flare.

Another Good thing I talked to him after. Antipoison and other Antitoxins are useful! Okay!

Just finally discovered the Requirements section on the Equips screen, from accidentally hitting left and right... Why's it say 22 MP Required and 22MP Total for some medals, but 1 MP Required and 0 MP free for others, like Small Fortune?

Also, I only have 21 MP, not 22?

...

For HP Regeneration, does it not combine right when walking around? If I have Life Guard for 2 HP, and Minor Regen Ring for 1HP, I only see my HP recover in 2HP increments, instead of 3?

...

EDIT: Took down Green Knight with my third strat. Snowmight Set, Ice Affinity, then Star Bursting and Ice Formula II. Somehow, the Magic Axe only did ~30 damage instead of the 100+ I was getting before when wearing Tower Shield, Hasty Hat and Alloyweave Robe. I guess it's something about the Defense Inversion property of the attack?

Oh wow, I forgot the Requirements text was even a thing.  With that said, I'll definitely go in and correct the text on any medals in the game- it should use "# Required/# Free". Should have that done by... probably tomorrow. Then I'll go ahead and throw out another bugfix patch.

Still trying to figure out what's causing the on-map Regen to act weird. I'll let you know if I find a breakthrough.

If the Fairy in the same battle as the Green Knight hit you with Lilliputiation, the inverse DEF effect was multiplied by four. With a high DEF build... Ow. That's gonna hurt. This effect is pretty rare- I specifically included it on Magic Axe as a reference to Sir Gawain and the Green Knight- but be wary, there's going to be more attacks that ignore DEF.

My initial plan was Max Attack Gear + Overcharge Star Burst, actually, but it was too slow, and I didn't have Strange Materials on-hand to to make a Condensed Fire Formula to isolate the Green Knight.

Thanks! I forgot that's what Lilliputiation does! I kept getting getting hit by it, so that was making Magic Axe OHKO-ing me.

Next goal: Malixinne. Plan: Overcharge something, maybe Star Burst, and Heavy Grav to take out a nice big 100+ of her HP.

Finally beat Black Knight 2 without Healing. But I needed Star Burst, Heavy Grav and Super Power Booster and Buster for it. Ah well. Aw, lost the first Black Knight Bestiary entry.

I felt fine with spending Jelly Jewels because now I know Air Gels drop them, and I gotta revisit the Barrier Wood anyway, to find where the Leafshredder Mage Bounty is. EDIT: Oooh, it's not near Jelirol at all!

Anyway, returning to the Earth Crystal!

I guess the Raft is to help get some sparkles. Gemstone Road's. Ha! Wow! That's a surprise!

Beat the Ninja! A bit tough, but save scumming, a lucky occurrence that the Ninja didn't use that thing that makes the Shadow take hits, and some Tempest Flask II, and I was golden!

... Should the Shadow be in the bestiary? I'm not seeing it?

The Shadow Double isn't in the Bestiary; I figured it's just an extension of the Ninja Boss rather than a new enemy itself.

He'd be a lot tougher if you didn't have two people. I actually made him before I got around to making certain effects/monsters/characters guard allies that aren't at low health, so I had to make him raise his max HP way up to make his gimmick work.

On a related note, the next bugfix will prevent stair-related physics-breaking in Jelirol and Tor Torken. I've been putting blocking events in as they come up.

Yeah, if I got a run where that Ninja did use that damage displacement skill and I didn't have Garett, I'd have a very hard time hitting him!

Speaking of Jelirol, I went back to the Mayor's secret basement because an electro / yellow slime in Jelirol told me to, but nothing's different?

Got Levinite and Wonder Cells from Harvesting before knowing any uses for them! Interesting!

EDIT: Wearing 7 Defense Foci, and my Treat is healing my for 3 HP. Is that Variance at fault? I should be healed for a minimum of 5? Oh. Oh, I have -3 Attack. Right, that would make sense.

BUG EDIT: Can Stair Break Physics in Jelirol Magic Shop.

Lol finally get to Jelirol, and somehow Garett's here when he should be at Tor Torken. When I go back, I'm eating an Apple so I have 28 Defense to stop the Tank's multi-hit. 29 actually, and Fire Resist for 15 turns was overkill.

Cute town! Haven't explored its Magic Shop yet. Heh, something's weird about it. And about Brill's magic abilities.

Lol Brill assuming I'll use Solar Sauce for Flame Oil.

EDIT: Not sure if Garett's Block should be between his Fight and Magic, like how Brill's Block is between her Inventory and Skills. I keep trying to use his magic, and blocking instead.

Went back to Tor Torken. Figured out how to do the puzzle, basically, sorta handle the top and bottom halves separately or something. Whatever. I got Heavy Grav and Insulator Robe. So good!

But Enemy walked on stairs to break physics, until it figured out how to walk back down again and fight me while I was alt-tabbed out:

Also, in the last room of enemies before the Queen of Diamonds, right before I updated. I took out the pairs at the bottom, and when I loaded up the pre-update save, the gems were revived?
...
EDIT: And the Tank isn't that tough with the Insulator and 20 Defense. I still don't have the Defense Hat even. Thankfully the Tower gives Thunder II supplies. Now if Garett could heal himself, that'd be nice.

I want to beat it without healing. I need that hat.

I'm not sure how the enemies would've reappeared, but I'll give it a look.

I've just now placed events to prevent anyone from breaking physics in Tor Torken, and the background sound after Dead Tree Grove should be fixed with the next update as well.

Left Dead Tree Grove too fast. Its rumbling is following me around. Nicely creepy though! I've got my bets that the Earth Crystal isn't just a coincidence that it's able to talk right now while the other crystals aren't.

You can't reach it right now, but there'll be a way for you to get to it in the near future. I'll keep quiet about the details, though.
